Frequently Asked Questions
This service works with your existing landline and toll free number. Textel allows you to send and receive texts from that number, right from your computer. There are two primary ways to do that: the Web App and the Desktop App. The web app acts as your contact management hub and is accessed by logging in at www.textel.net/login. Our desktop app is downloaded and stored in your computer’s system tray and allows you to view and reply to incoming texts when you are away from the web app. We also offer mobile apps for your iPhone, iPad, Android phone and tablet so that your business text messages are always accessible even when you aren’t in the office.
No. Our system operates independently of your landline or toll-free provider. Both the set up as well as billing will not affect your relationship or service with your phone carrier.
No. Our service is month-to-month and you can cancel at any time. However, we do offer discounts for plans that are paid for on an annual basis.
No. Our application is cloud based, so all you need is access to the internet. Our application is supported on Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer 9. While you do not need to install anything, we do recommend downloading our desktop application that sends out push notifications on your desktop notifying you of a text. This is supported on Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade packages as you like for free at any time.
Textel is a peer-to-peer communication service that is used to build and enhance customer relationships on a personal, individual level. Short code texting, on the other hand, is more expensive and used for mass marketing purposes. Long code texting like our landline and toll free services utilize your company’s existing phone number as opposed to short codes that use a different number that may be unfamiliar to customers. We do not condone the use of this service to solicit wireless subscribers with any unwanted text messages. We have a zero tolerance policy for SMS spam and reserve the right to immediately cancel the service for any user that does so. To learn more, please read our Acceptable Use Agreement.
